Bragging on the Father!

While doing 5 minute english, I talked to this young man named Yuya. He is a sophomore at Wasada University. As we were talking I asked him one of the questions from the 5 minute english book which says, "Are you a spiritually minded person?" He didn't understand the question so I asked him whether he believed in God or not. He said that he did because before a test he would pray for a good score. I asked him if he prayed at the temples and he said that he did at New Years. I mentioned that in Buddhism or Shintoism there are more than one god and told him that in Christianity we believed there is one true God who made everything. I almost mentioned that if you have a relationship with this God than your life will have purpose. Then somehow that lead into talking about the bible. He told me that he had received a bible while in high school. So I asked him if his high school was Christian and he said it wasn't but that his principle enjoyed reading the bible so he gave one to each of the students. From that I started to share the gospel with him and he was very interested and affected by the part where Jesus died in our place. After sharing with him I asked him if there was anything holding him back from believing everything and he said no. So I asked him if he wanted to become a Christian and he said yeah and prayed to receive Christ right there! Afterwards he looked at a picture of Jesus and said, "I love Jesus!"

It was really really awesome!

What made it better is that I had been having a bad day that day and so I know that God wanted to encourage me and show me that He will use me no matter what my mood is. What makes it even cooler is if you read the blog post before this one. God didn't have to use me but He did. He didn't have to show it to me but He did. I'm overwhelmed by the way He works. Good stuff, huh?
